Early Readers Preschool- Grand Opening 2019 Coordinated a series of event related to the grand opening of a preschool &daycare in southwest Fresno. W.S. Wilson Scholarship Banquet February 2007/2009/2011/2013/2016/2019 The California Valley Jurisdiction of the Church of God in Christ's annual scholarship banquet benefits graduating high school seniors from 50 churches between Stockton and Bakersfield. Urban SE managed all aspects of the event including logistics, marketing, sponsorship & advertisement. Over $2500 was raised for graduating high school seniors. Central Valley Business Diversity Expo 2012-2016 Developed event concept, workshops outlines, and created multi-agency & corporate partnership host committee. Managed overall implementation, creative design and marketing of the one-day conference including a business match making, supplier diversity panels, four (4) small business & best practices workshops, a supplier diversity buyer expo with 20+ exhibitors and an awards luncheon. Other guests included CA High Speed Rail management, corporate supplier diversity staff, and statewide business leaders. All local and minority or women-owned vendors were used to conduct this event. Past Speakers: Fresno Mayor Swearegin, County Supervisor Henry R. Perea, Dr. Scott Vowels of Northern CA Minority Supplier Development Council, and Orson Aguilar of the Greenlining Institute. CA High Speed Rail: Disparity Study Fall-Winter 2013 Footsteps to Freedom Documentary Project Fall 2013 Co-produced a documentary for Gotta Love Fresno, a Comcast NBC web project surrounding Dr. Martin L. King Jr. and the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington. Coordinated the video production, casting, and video premiere with 100+ community leaders and guests including marketing, public relations, and event logistics. CA High-Speed Ventures Outreach Summer 2012 Worked with A Squared Ventures to implement a statewide pre-bid outreach plan to engage small, minority and disabled veteran-owned businesses for the CA High Speed Rail project. Connected more than 500 small and diverse businesses to contracting opportunities with events in Oakland, Fresno and Los Angeles. Back to School, Back to Work Job Fair September 2011, 2012 Coordinated the multi-employer job fair targeting Fresno's high unemployment neighborhoods. Conducted soft skill workshops in six neighborhoods. Annual Results: 35 employers; 2000+ job seekers; 25 event volunteers Fresno Urban Leadership Conference State of the Fresno Black Community Forum September 2010-15 Managed overall implementation, creative design and marketing of the conference including a breakfast with keynote speaker, four panel session, business mixer & reception, and an awards luncheon. Attendees include Fresno City Council members, school board trustee, business owners and other high-level leaders in education, banking, workforce development. All local and minority or women-owned vendors were used to conduct this event. Assisted the Fresno Metro Black Chamber Foundation in tripling sponsorship support over 2010. Simon, Aubry Stone (CA Black Chamber), Fresno Mayor Ashely Swearengin, Dr. Mark LaMont Hill, Dr. Robert Watts, Michael Banner (Los Angeles CDC) Fresno Black Community Priorities Survey Summer 2009-2016 Lead project development and conducting online and direct community surveys in the greater Fresno area targeting African-Americans. Provide survey and data analysis and summary report. Oliver Baines for City Council 2010 Fall 2010 Coordinated organizational outreach & volunteer effort for the city council race that resulted in over 200 volunteers from labor, business, student groups and district residents. As a key member of the campaign team, provided consultation on community and cultural connections, voter engagement strategies and public relations. The Transparency, Accountability & Capacity Report: Assessment of Fresno's Black Chambers of Commerce Spring 2009 A comprehensive analysis of the Fresno's two Black chambers of commerce along with observations and recommendations on how to move forward. Building Healthy Communities Summit Fall 2008 Assisted senior project consultants and the planning team with event logistics, facility planning, coordinating event collateral and community outreach. Over 200 community residents and stakeholder attended the event that incorporated cultural arts performances, workshops and food. |
